BELLEVILLE — An Illinois man is suing his employer, alleging his biometric information was saved without his knowledge.
Isaac Brown, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a class action complaint March 14 in St. Clair County Circuit Court against Trilogy Warehouse Partners II LLC and Doe Defendants 1-10, alleging violation of the Biometrics Information Privacy Act.
The suit states Brown was employed by Trilogy Warehouse and was required to scan in and out of work using a timeclock that operated by scanning the plaintiff’s fingerprint. While employed by the defendant, Brown claims he was unaware that Trilogy Warehouse was storing and collecting his biometric information.
Brown seeks trial by jury, damages of $1,000 per negligent violation and $5,000 per willful or reckless violation, plus attorney fees and court costs, as well as all other just and appropriate relief. He is represented by attorneys Brandon M. Wise and Paul Lesko of Peiffer Wolf Carr & Kane APLC in St. Louis.
